Cyclacel Pharmaceuticals Target Price if Approved

March 27, 2010

Let’s look into brief profile of CYCC.  Cyclacel Pharmaceuticals, Inc has various drugs under develipment:  they are:

  • Sapacitabine (CYC682):  An oral nucleoside analogue, which is in phase II studies for the treatment of hematological malignancies, , such as acute myeloid leukemia in the elderly, myelodysplastic syndromes, cutaneous T-cell lymphoma, and lung cancer.
  • Seliciclib (CYC202): A CDK (cyclin dependent kinase) inhibitor, which is in phase II studies for the treatment of lung cancer and nasopharyngeal cancer.
  • CYC116, an Aurora kinase and VEGFR2 inhibitor that is in phase I studies for patients with solid tumors.

The company, through its subsidiary, ALIGN Pharmaceuticals, LLC, markets directly Xclair Cream for radiation dermatitis, as well as Numoisyn Liquid and Numoisyn Lozenges for xerostomia in the United States. It focuses on building a diversified biopharmaceutical business focused in hematology, oncology, and other therapeutic areas based on a portfolio of commercial products and a development pipeline of novel drug candidates.

Now some good points: Cyclacel ended 2009 with cash and cash equivalents of $11.5 million. The company expects its cash balance coupled with the proceeds from recent financings to be sufficient to meet its anticipated short-term working capital needs. Furthermore, they should be able to fund current operations for at least the next twelve months.  So no more dilution for a year at least.
